How to Play NoChill Racing

Your guide to becoming a champion racer

🚀 Getting Started

  1. Connect Your Wallet: Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner. Make sure you're on the Avalanche C-Chain network.
  2. Wait for a Race: Races start automatically every few minutes. Watch for the countdown timer to appear.
  3. Choose Your Character: When the opt-in period begins, select your favorite racer character and enter a username.
  4. Opt Into the Race: Click "Opt Into Race" to join. You'll be asked to sign a message with your wallet (no gas fees for signing!).
Pro Tip: The opt-in window is limited! Make sure to join before the countdown reaches zero.

🏁 Race Types

Multiplayer Races

When 2 or more players opt in, you'll race against real players. The race is completely automated - just watch and cheer for your racer!

Practice Races

If you're the only player who opts in, don't worry! You'll see a practice race with 10 demo racers. This is a great way to see how races work, but there's no winner declared for practice races.

Demo Races

If no one opts in, a demo race with 10 AI racers will run automatically so you can still enjoy the action.

💰 Sponsoring Prize Pools

Want to make races more exciting? Sponsor a prize pool using your ERC20 tokens!

  1. Connect Your Wallet: Make sure your wallet is connected.
  2. Click "Sponsor This Race": The sponsor form will appear before the race starts.
  3. Select Your Token: Choose from the ERC20 tokens in your wallet (only tokens with a balance will appear).
  4. Enter Amount: Type the amount you want to contribute to the prize pool.
  5. Deposit Prize: Click "Deposit Prize" and approve the transactions in your wallet.
Important: Prize deposits require two transactions:
  • First, you approve the contract to spend your tokens
  • Second, you deposit the tokens into the prize pool
Both transactions will prompt you in your wallet.

The winner of the race automatically receives the entire prize pool!

⚡ Race Mechanics

How Races Work

  • All racers start at the same time when the countdown ends
  • Race progress is determined by the server to ensure fairness
  • Each racer advances at varying speeds with realistic acceleration and deceleration
  • The first racer to cross the finish line wins!

Fair Play

NoChill Racing uses server-side race logic to prevent cheating. All racers have an equal chance of winning - it's all about luck and timing!

🏆 Winning & Prizes

Winning the Race

When a race finishes, the winner is displayed on screen with their character, username, and wallet address.

Claiming Your Prize

If there's a prize pool and you win:

  • The prize is automatically paid out to your wallet address
  • You'll see a transaction confirmation on screen
  • Check your wallet to see your winnings!
Remember: Only races with 2+ human players have winners. Practice races (1 player) don't award prizes.

🔧 Troubleshooting

Wrong Network Warning

If you see "Please switch to Avalanche C-Chain", click on your wallet extension and switch to the Avalanche network (Chain ID: 43114).

Can't See My Tokens

The token dropdown only shows ERC20 tokens that you own on Avalanche C-Chain. If you don't see any tokens, make sure you have some common tokens like WAVAX, USDC, or USDt in your wallet.

Transaction Failed

If a transaction fails:

  • Make sure you have enough AVAX for gas fees
  • Check that you have sufficient token balance
  • Try again - sometimes network congestion can cause failures

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Be Quick: The opt-in window is limited. Join as soon as the countdown appears!
  • Watch the Prize Pool: Bigger prizes attract more racers, making for more exciting races.
  • Choose Your Moment: Some race times might have more players than others.
  • Have Fun: Racing is based on luck, so relax and enjoy the competition!
